Software first, then the metal around it.

XPENG designs its own cabin operating system, its own driver-assistance stack and its own silicon. That vertical integration is the argument for buying one — and the reason official import matters, because the software is the part a parallel importer cannot service.

Navigation, media, climate, voice control and vehicle settings run on one platform rather than a set of bolted-together suppliers’ systems. XPENG ships feature updates to it over the air.

XPILOT ASSIST

XPENG’s own driver-assistance system, developed in-house on its own perception stack. Function and availability vary by market and by regulation.

Driver assistance supports the driver. It does not replace them, and the driver remains responsible at all times.

The charging

Silicon-carbide architecture

The power electronics are built on silicon carbide, which is what allows XPENG to claim a 10–80% charge in twelve minutes for the G9, G6, X9 and P7+ on a suitable charger.

Charging time depends on the charger, the temperature and the state of the battery. Twelve minutes is a best-case manufacturer figure.

Over-the-air updates

XPENG ships vehicle software updates remotely, which is why a car three years old can behave differently from the one that left the factory.

Update eligibility follows the market a car was built and registered for. This is the single clearest practical difference between an official import and a grey one.

Beyond the car

XPENG’s research runs wider than road vehicles — humanoid robotics and flying vehicles both sit inside the same group. It is context for the engineering, not something you can buy in Yerevan.
